Agrochemical industry seeks parity with pharmaceuticals for fiscal concessions

The Rs.4,000-crore agrochemical industry wants to be treated at par with pharma companies so they get similar tax incentives."Pharma companies enjoy 150% reduction from the expenses incurred on R&D,demonstration and training for income tax purposes,as also similar benefits in fringe benefit tax," Mr.S.Kumarasamy,Chairman,Agrochemicals Promotion Group (AGP),an industry body of 200 agrochemical companies said.
