Slowing investment will lift BOPP industry margins: AMI report

Margins and utilisation rates around the world in the biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film industry are set for readjustment,according to a new report from industry consultants,AMI.While the BOPP film industry is one of the strongest growing sectors of the flexible packaging industry,over-enthusiastic investment in recent years had driven down margins and utilisation rates globally."The industry now looks set for a period of readjustment with investment rates having slowed notably from the giddy heights of the early 2000s and utilisation rates should steadily improve over the next five years,hopefully bringing some relief to hard pressed BOPP margins," the report stated.
