The Indian pharmaceutical industry is increasingly looking to tap the tremendous business potential in the Japanese market.Companies like Cipla,Zydus Cadila and Torrent are already reported to be scouting for partners to enter the country.That this interest was an industry-wide phenomenon was quite evident from the enthusiastic response to a one-day seminar titled 'Succeeding in Japan' organised by the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) in association with The India Japan Initiative (IJI),a not-for-profit organisation started by the Kirloskar Group.Experts from both Indian and Japanese business houses who have fostered successful partnerships between the two countries spoke on the occasion.
