At CPhI Worldwide 2006,Wacker showcased its broad portfolio of organic intermediates,silane innovations and biotech products,under the motto"Behind Success There is Experience."Wacker focused on its 'Triple Synthesis Power' package of technology platforms,comprising organic synthesis,silane chemistry and biotechnology.The package's platforms support the synthesis,for example,of silane synthons,chiral alcohols and purely vegetable-based cysteine for use in agro-chemicals,pharmaceuticals and food processing.Wacker's organic-synthesis platform includes the special area of selective chlorination.The company's many chlori-nation methods provide pathways to a series of alpha-chlorocarbonyl compounds,which can be produced on an industrial scale.
