India's manufacturing contributes 16% to GDP;35% in China

Despite talks of preferential focus to accelerate the role of manufacturing in the Indian economy,the sector's share has stagnated at 16% of GDP (in January 2006),against shares of 35%,29%,31% and 34% in China,Korea,Malaysia and Thailand respectively.
