Citric acid jumps on demand;Sodium hydrosulfite edges down marginally

Mixed conditions were noticed in the Delhi chemicals market during the week ended July 24.Due to paltry stocks,camphor,citric acid and copper sulphate soared whereas on insufficient buying,safolite,hydrogen peroxide and titanium tumbled down.Acetic acid moved higher by Rs.3 at Rs.44 per kg,initially due to profit-taking.While Citric acid jumped up by Rs.50/100 to Rs.2600/3000,owing to increased offtake by confectioners and cold drink makers.Among inorganic chemicals,Copper sulphate went up by Rs.100 to Rs.4500/4700 per quintal,while Safolite edged down by Re.one to Rs.67 per kg.Sodium hydrosulphite (China) improved from Rs.42 to Rs.43 per kg.,on renewed buying.Demosha material also edged down by Re.one at Rs.63 per kg.
