DNA markers can identify varieties of peach, pear

The National Institute of Fruit Science (NIFS, Japan) has developed, together with the National Center for Seeds and Seedlings, new DNA markers that can identify the varieties of peach and pear. Researchers involved say that the new markers could help solve trouble concerning the infringement of registered varieties of plants.
