Mitsubishi Corp. signs deal to build methanol plant at Sakhalin Island

Mitsubishi Corp. (Tokyo, Japan) and the regional government of Sakhalin Island, Russia, have signed a contract to build a methanol production plant on the island. The contract was signed during the second Eastern Economic Forum—held recently in Vladivostok, Russia—by Minoru Furusawa, general director of the Mitsubishi Corp. Russia subsidiary; and Vera Scherbina, head of the Sakhalin government.
