Methanex starts up second relocated methanol plant at Geismar

Methanex says that on 27 December 2015 it started producing methanol from its newly completed l-million m.t./year Geismar 2 plant at Geismar, LA. The plant has been relocated from the company's production site in Cabo Negro, Chile. Methanex decided to relocate its first and second methanol plants from its Cabo Negro site to Geismar in 2012 and 2013, respectively. The first relocated methanol plant, Geismar 1, started production earlier in 2015.
