BASF exits SolVin PVC JV, Inovyn is launched

BASF has sold its 25% stake in the SolVin polyvinyl chloride (PVC) joint venture to its partner, Solvay. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. Solvay contributed its vinyls activities in Europe, including the company's stake in SolVin, to Inovyn (London), a newly created, ?3-billion/year ($3.33 billion) chlorvinyls jv with Ineos. The whole of SolVin now transfers to Inovyn.
