Uralchem to expand urea capacity using Stamicarhon process

Uralchem (Moscow) and Stamicarbon (Sit-tard, Netherlands) have announced that they have agreed to proceed with a project to modernize Uralchem's urea production plant at Perm, Russia. The required investment is estimated at 4.20 billion Russian rubles ($63.6 million). The project, expected to be completed by 2019, will increase the Perm plant's urea capacity from 1,930 m.t./day, to 2,700 m.t./day. The contract was signed by Dmitry Konyaev, general director of Uralchem; and the CEO of Stamicarbon, Pejman Djavdan. Stamicarbon will license urea technology and act as a general contractor for the project's design.
