Hanwha plans chlor-alkali, EDC expansion at Yosu

Hanwha Chemical (Seoul) is planning to raise capacity for chlor-alkali products and ethylene dichloride (EDC) at the company's Yosu, South Korea, petrochemical complex, CW has learned. The company will invest about 204,7 billion Korean won ($183 million) for the project, and the additional; capacity is expected to start production in 2015. Hanwha plans to add 1.20,000.. mi/year of chlorine; 130,000 m.t./ year of caustic soda; and 200,000 m.t/year of EDC capacity through the project.
