EuroChem (Moscow), Russia's largest fertilizer producer and among the top 10 fertilizer players worldwide, has announced plans to create a joint venture with Migao (Luliang, China), a specialty potash fertilizer producer. The jv is expected to produce up to 60,000 m.t./year of potassium nitrate and up to 200,000 m.t./ year of chlorine-free NPK fertilizers at Luliang. EuroChem and Migao plan to begin construction of the plant in 2013 and start production in 2014, using Migao's technology. The jv will be an equally owned partnership, although EuroChem says it does not exclude the possibility of attracting a third partner.
