The CW75 index rose 2.5% for the week ended 30 April, outpacing the MSCI World Index and the S&P 500, which rose 2.2% and 1.2%, respectively. Basic chemical shares rose 2.7%, diversified shares increased 2%, and specialty stocks were up 1.8%. MEMC posted the biggest gain for the week, 13.4%", followed by Albany Molecular and Methanex, up 11.7% and 9.8%, respectively. Eastman posted the biggest declines for the week, at 5.6%, followed by Stepan and Shanghai Petrochemical, with losses of 5.5% and 5.1%, respectively.
