Nova Chemicals has signed three agreements, including two ethane supply deals and a transportation service agreement, to support a planned overhaul of its Corunna, ON cracker that would allow it to utilize up to 100% natural gas liquids (NGLs) feedstock.Nova has signed a transportation service agreement with Sunoco Pipeline for the transportation of ethane feedstock from the Marcellus Shale into the Sarnia region, where Nova's plant is located. The company has also signed separate definitive agreements for long-term ethane supply from the Marcellus Shale with Caiman Energy (Dallas, TX) and Range Resources (Fort Worth, TX). Nova says it continues to work with other gas producers in the Marcellus region, including Statoil, to secure additional ethane for its Corunna cracker. The agreements will provide "substantially all" of the feedstock supply needed to support a move to 100% NGLs, Nova says.
