The CW75 Index dropped 6.3% for the week ended October 4, trailing broader market indexes including the MSCI and the Standard & Poor's 500, which fell 5.8% and 4.4%, respectively. Stocks fell on heightened concerns over Europe's sovereign debt.Basic chemical shares fell 6.1%, diversified stocks were down 5.7%; and specialty chemical stocks decreased 3.5%. Fertilizer stocks were among the laggards after USDA data showed higher estimated corn stockpiles. The biggest drops were seen at Chemtura, Rockwood Holdings, and Celanese, which each saw a 20% decline for the week.
