Tightness in the North American butadiene market has driven up contract prices for the month of June to an all-time high. June contracts rose by 9 cts/lb on the low end and by a whopping 20 cts/lb on the high end, to $1.50/lb-$1.65/lb, depending on the producer. The settlement represents the seventh consecutive month of increases, and places contract prices at a 6%-13% premium over May levels.
