Dow Declares Force Majeure on Caustic Soda

Dow Chemical says it has declared force majeure on caustic soda from its Freeport,TX chlor-alkali facility.North American and some Latin American customers will be on approximately 90% allocation effective immediately,and the force majeure will remain in effect for a minimum of three months,Dow says.An unspecified"critical production issue"at the facility has compounded the effect of other operational and equipment disruptions,Dow says.
