On calculating a device for limiting short-circuit currents in electrical network

摘要

A device is proposed for limiting short-circuit currents in electrical networks with the use of high-speed controlled shunting reactor. Characteristics of the device proposed are analysed. It is shown that by using such devices it is possible tosignifically reduce short-circuit currents without limitation of the network transfer capability under normal operating conditions.
