New schemes are proposed and investigated of asymmetric three-phase fractional-slot lap windings of a. c. electrical machines with a non-integer number z/3 for 2p = 4 and 6 poles, characterized by a reduced voltage asymmetry and an improvedharmonic composition of the m.m.f. A procedure has been developed for determining the electromagnetic parameters of the windings using their m.m.f polygons and stars of the slot e.m.f. The windings proposed are compared with the known ones, and theiradvantages are demonstrated.
