摘要

The article discusses the results of analyses and tests of unit-cast and multicomponent piston skirts in medium-speed four-stroke internal combustion engines. Shortcomings of the existing piston skirt design are demonstrated. Proposed alterations in design features include changes in cross section of critical piston skirt zones in order to ensure higher load capacity and longer piston life.
