Minimization problem of the whole drive unit mass for machine equipped with adaptive friction coupling through their operation accuracy change is considered. It's shown that only one amplification value of the coupling feedback and corresponding operation accuracy exist at which the whole drive unit mass is minimal. It's stated that coupling operation accuracy increases with increasing the drive unit and coupling mass ratio.
