Nonlinear dynamic wear processes are significant for running in, emergency and catastrophic wear. Nonlinear physico-chemical, mechanical processes, external loading in terms of time can be discrete or continuous. Questions useful for understanding and development wear processes and wear particles formation are stated. Methods and instrumentation for revealing, registration and analysis of wear particles are indicated. These methods are necessary for residual resource forecasting of the machine parts wear in terms of determination and probability. It's attempted to form causal connection between wear particles properties and superficial destruction mechanism.
