Application of explosion energy for improving reliability of welded structures

摘要

The point, peculiarities and actual rational application fields of a new technology of explosion treatment of welded joints are summarized. It is shown that this technology provides a considerable improvement in reliability and durability of metal structures. Physical mechanisms of the process and methods used to calculate parameters of explosion loading of weldments of different geometries are considered. Explosion treatment is shown to have a favourable effect on performance of welded structures and is characterized by high productivity and cost effectiveness.
