摘要

The BER characteristics are greatly improved by making each element of SMI (Sample Matrix Inversion) adaptive array antennas have the interference suppression function. Especially, they are drastically improved, when interference waves are received from the same direction as that of the desired wave or are received in a strong near-far situation, in which cases the adaptive array antennas themselves can't separate the interference wave. We have already proposed SMI adaptive array antennas with interference suppression operating under the quasi-synchronous condition. In this paper, we propose asynchronous SMI adaptive array antennas with interference suppression. The respective characteristics of the adaptive array and interference suppression function, and the total system performance are clarified and they are also compared between quasi-synchronous and asynchronous operation.
