摘要

With the increasing use of computed tomography, focal ground-glass opacities (GGOs) in the lung become frequently detected. In the CT screening for lung cancer, GGO nodules were 19% among the all detected nodules. Malignancy rate for pure GGO nodules (34%) was higher than solid nodules (7%), and mixed GGOs (GGO nodules with solid component) showed the highest likelihood of malignancy (67%) (1-3). We developed an automatic computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) program to detect ground-glass opacity nodules, which are closely related with early diagnosis of lung cancer.
