摘要

CO{sub}2 ocean sequestration, a measure against global warming, can be classified into the dissolution and the storage methods. The storage method is to stably store CO{sub}2 at the dented ocean floor where liquid CO{sub}2 is heavier than CO{sub}2 rich seawater. This method has an advantage to sequestrate CO{sub}2 longer than 2000 years but the requirement of deep ocean has been thought a disadvantage. CO{sub}2 has to be transported by a tanker at around -55 Celsius from the requirement of low pressures. Considering such cold CO{sub}2 is heavier than seawater even at 500 meters depth, the Ship Research Institute proposed a new CO{sub}2 Sending Method for Ocean storage, COSMOS, which has a potential to reduce drastically the cost of storage method, and conducts international joint researches to develop the COSMOS.
