摘要

In the old model of content delivery networks (CDN), where content was always delivered via a single server-client connection, the concepts of availability of content and dependability of its streaming on server congestion and network performance bore roughly the same meaning. With the advent of P2P streaming as well as several directions of standardization in W3C-backed HTML5 streaming, these concepts are not trivial any longer, and have different meanings. This paper proposes several analytical models of availability and dependability of video streaming in respect to several current advances in both P2P and HTML5 technologies.
