The criteria of selecting steels for applications encumbered with abrasive wear

Scientific and methodological approaches are formulated to the structure of the criteria of wear resistance of steels, alternative criteria of assessing abrasive wear are analyzed using standard mechanical characteristics of steels. It is shown that the mechanical characteristics of the group of strength and plasticity should be considered in their integrity.
