摘要

It is proven that heat dissipation through the spot of contact between the wheel and the rail is as essential as that through air. Formulas are obtained for calculating the average temperature of the shoe and the temperature in the spot of contact between the wheel and the rail. These formulas allow to investigate temperature changes in the process of braking of the rolling stock. It is shown how these temperatures can be controlled.
