摘要

The cultivar was created by Moscow Breeding Station and V. R. Vil'yams All-Russian Research Institute of Feeds. Vega 87 is a winter hardy and drought resistant cultivar. Vega 87 is a good honey bee foraging plant, with sugar productivity up to 75 kg/ha. It is characterised by easy opening of flowers which makes them available for pollination by many insects, including bees. Seed productivity in favourable years can achieve 0.6 t/ha. Productivity of the cultivar is 10-20 t/ha of dry weight, 2.0-2.5 t/ha of crude protein. The cultivar is licensed for use in 8 regions of the Russian Federation.
