From a brief review of published combustion models for energetic materials,it follows that considerable modeling efforts have been directed toward a more accurate description of gas-phase processes.It is often assumed that gas-phase reactions play a dominant role in burning rate control.At the same time,more and more arguments have emerged suggesting a dominant role of condensed-phase processes for a number of the most widely used homogeneous propellants in the rocket range of pressures.However,serious problems remain in the modeling of such combustion regimes.A solution of these problems is proposed.
