NEC Corp. is giving itself the unenviable task of increasing battery performance by a factor of two and halving the price. "We have to deveop the business globally. Kaoru Yano, the company's chairman, said, "It will be difficult to meet demand with only the output capacity of NEC Energy Devices in our Sagamihara plant. The candidate locations for capacity addition are overseas."
