OEMs unveil 2nd life for Li-ion

With estimates claiming lithium-ion batteries from end-of-use electric vehicles (EV) still have around 80% capacity left, it makes perfect sense for OEMs to give batteries a second life - at least to the accountants. Sceptics, however, cite everything from the difficulty in judging the capacity left in individual batteries to the size of the Energy Storage Systems (ESS) as reasons they will fail.
