Exide avoids bankruptcy but recycling plants still a concern

Exide Technologies' fortunes seem to fluctuate with the tides these days as it fights against bankruptcy and fines. Since our last issue the company has won its latest battle to claw its way out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and secured a deal which saw the Bank of America Business Capital close a $200 million asset-based revolving credit facility for the company. Phil Damaska, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Exide Technologies said at the time the company was 'grateful for the support and leadership of Bank of America Merrill Lynch'.
