ACYLATED FLAVONE AND IRIDOID GLUCOSIDE FROM Pothos cathcarti

Pothos cathcarti Schott, syn. P, scandens D. Don (local name: Hathidenkiya) (Araceae), a climber, is widely distributed in tropical Himalayas from Kumaon to Burma, Bhutan, and northeastern states of India [1]. Its leaves fried with vegetable ghee are eaten for treating various pains in the body [2]. Phytochemical work on this plant has not been reported. This prompted us to study the plant.
