Dyeing Paper by Soil Colorants for Produce Packaging Paper

Narrow leaf cattail (Typha angustiflolia L.) is weed grows at shadow pond. It is the major weed in the wet land area. When the plant grows in shallow water like many and died causing sewage water sources. Because narrow leaf cattail can grow and spread incredibly quickly and taking nutrient in soil cause the problem to commercial crop. However, the plant stems contains a good source of fiber1. The research aimed to make paper from narrow leaf cattail and colored the paper by using soil colorants and use for packaging. Natural dyes are dyes or colorants derived from plants, insects or minerals. Soil consists of organic and inorganic matter which is showed as soil color2'. Soil color is various chemical processes acting on soil, including climate, physical geography. Black soil contain of organic matter while red and yellow have iron mineral. In an ancient human used soil as the source of colorant for drawing or painting on their bodies.
