This article contains statements suggesting that EMCV belongs to the genus Enterovirus. While both EMCV and CVB3 belong to the Picornaviridae family, EMCV belongs to the genus Cardiovirus and CVB3 to the genus Enterovirus. The correct statements are listed below:(1) Accordingly, in this study, we demonstrated that cardiac-specific overexpression of TRIF led to the upregulation of antiviral molecules that are essential for efficient defense against EMCV-induced myocarditis and myocardial dysfunction.(2) Two recent studies have shown that MDA5 is critical for detection of picornaviruses [9, 15].The authors apologize for any confusion this may have created.
