Laurie's initial request to start a blog-ging group, we began to discuss whatwe wanted to write about. Besides be-ing librarians, a common element thatalready tied the six of us together wasour desire to learn more about technol-ogy, especially free web-based technol-ogy. Because all of us were already read-ing technology blogs to try to keep upwith the ever-shifting landscape of tech-nology and Web 2.0, we decided this wasa topic that we were not only interestedin but also could manage to researcheasily. In addition, we all happen towork for an institution that highly val-ues innovation, so focusing on new andinnovative Web 2.0 practices and toolswould be a natural tie-in with our pro-fessional lives.
