Timken provides bearings and condition monitoring systems for Goldwind platforms in China

The Timken Co of Canton, Ohio, USA has received a contract worth US$26 million to supply wind-turbine products and services to China's Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co Ltd, one of the world's top five wind-power equipment manufacturers. During 2009, Goldwind received new orders for systems with a total wind-power capacity of about 2722 MW - accounting for approximately 20% of the electricity, generated by wind, to be added to the power network in China over a twelve-month period. Goldwind's contract with Timken will Support more than 1500 MW of new wind-power capacity, with a broad scope that reflects the US firm's long-term commitment to develop wind-energy technology.
