GE Aviation and Boeing implement OSA-CBM for health monitoring of aircraft systems

In the USA, Boeing Co and GE Aviation have jointly developed what they say is a simplified way of implementing condition-based maintenance systems on aircraft. Called the Open System Architecture for Condition-Based Maintenance (OSA-CBM) it is set to become an industry standard following the signing of an agreement by the two companies to grant rights, for its use, to the Machinery Information Management Open Systems Alliance (MIMOSA).
