Wilcoxon sensors are certified to meet new ATEX standards

Wilcoxon Research Inc of Germantown, Maryland, USA, a major supplier of vibration sensors and sensor networks, has improved the hazardous area certifications covering several of its most popular accelerometers. The firm says that the changes in certification make the products available for a wider range of safety barriers as well as compliant with the new ATEX standards in Europe. ATEX is the name commonly given to the framework for controlling explosive atmospheres and the standards of equipment and protective systems used in them. It is based on the requirements of two European Directives.
