Polymer film nanocomposites based on cellulose and bicomponent mixtures of semiconducting p- and n-sulfides of univalent copper and cadmium were obtained by the in situ method.The content of the disperse phase in the as-prepared compositions was equal to approx50-60 vol %.The synthesis of such bilayered compositions with a well-defined CdS/Cu_2S boundary involves the two principal stages;of the formation of a CdS nanophase (via in situ reaction between Na_2S and cadmium salt sorbed in the polymer matrix) and the formation of a Cu_2S nanophase via the topochemical substitution of Cd~(2+) by Cu~(1+) ions in the cellulose-CdS compositions).The structure of highly filled compositions is characterized by the presence of disperse phase particles with dimensions of 80-90 nm which are formed via the coagulation of smaller (primary) particles with dimensions of approx10 nm.The as-prepared bilayered compositions may be used for the preparation of polymer-based solar batteries (the systems with the p-n-heterotransition).
