China's IC Industry

China's IC industry is composed of 8 key chip-making enterprises, a dozen packaging factories, and scores of design companies, several key materials and special tool suppliers. Concentrated geographically in three regions: Suzhou-Zhejiang-Shanghai; Beijing-Tianjin; Guangdong-Fujian. Sales revenue: 20 billion RMB. State Council Document [2000] No.18 encourage the development of IC industry. Fast economic development and great domestic demand bring a good environment to the China's IC industry. China's WTO accession will present both opportunities and challenges to the China's IC industry. More IC investments are pouring into China. China is becoming a world IC manufacturing base.
