摘要

In molten salt electrolysis, the prevention of consumption of carbon anode is desired. In the present study, the anodic behavior of carbon material was investigated in detail by electrochemical measurement and in situ observation to find the better electrolytic condition. A rod of some carbon materials was used as an anode. Cyclic voltammograms were measured and then potentio-static electrolysis was carried out. Cl2 gas and the other gas generation were found in the bath with Li2O. The weight change of the anode and the evolution of gas bubbles indicate the existence of CO2 evolution. However, the gas bubble evolution potential was shifted to noble from calculated potential.
