摘要

The irradiation of picosecond laser pulses causestemperature jump at the surface and the surface molecules arethermally exited to form the reaction intermediates. The directobservation of the surface by sum-frequency generationspectroscopy enables us to identify structure of intermediates.The successful application of this method, the study ofdecomposition of formate on NiO (111) surface, is discussed in this article.
