摘要

A large national study published moie than a decade ago reported a prevalence of 13% for FeLV in 27,976 diseased and "high-risk" pet cats. The infection rate was 21% among clinically ill and "at-risk" cats compared with 7% of asymptomatic cats Similarresults were reported in a survey of cases referred to veterinary medical teaching hospitals from 1972 to 1998. Of 409,417 cats seen at the teaching hospitals, 8,756 (2.2%) were diagnosed with FeLV. In addition to identifying a higher rate of infectionin ill cats, both studies found that prevalence was greatest in male cats, mixed-breed cats, and cats between 1 and 7 years of age.
