Strathclyde launches two major energy partnerships

In the UK, the University of Strathclyde recently announced the launch of two world-class energy partnerships that will put Scotland at the forefront of power industry development. The first partnership is a ￡0.5-million research alliance between British Energy and the Institute for Energy and Environment at the University of Strathclyde, and will see the creation of the British Energy Advanced Diagnostic Centre. The centre will deliver strategic research, consultancy, training and professional development concerning all aspects of diagnostics and condition monitoring. This will place Strathclyde at the forefront of world-class research underpinning the safe and efficient generation of nuclear energy. The university has also partnered with US company GSE Systems Inc to develop a new simulation training centre using the latest simulation technology.
