Protecting pumps against abrasive wear

Various processes employed for the exploitation and processing of crude oil require the transportation of fluids with a high abrasive content. Under such conditions and without any adequate protection, the pumps can experience heavy abrasive wear within a short period. Together with Sulzer Metco and Sulzer Innotec, Sulzer Pumps has investigated methods to protect the machines operating under such conditions.
