摘要

New injury risk curves for the evaluation of pedestrian head injury risk by means of headform impactors are proposed in the present study. Child and adult headform impactors were used to estimate head injury criteria (HIC) related to the risk of injuries to the pedestrian head induced by the bonnet or windshield region including A-pillar contact in a real-world pedestrian accident. The head injury risk curves in terms of HIC were developed from application of t-test and the maximum likelihood method of logistic regression to measured HIC. The risk curve indicated that the HIC of 1675 and 2081 measured by a headform impactor correspond to a 0.2 and 0.5 probability of life threatening head injury, respectively.
